Best Beach Vacations and Stories
I love beach vacations!
One of my best relaxing vacations was in Cancun, Mexico where I spent the week with friends from Canada.
I’m not one to bake at the beach or pool. I like to walk along the beach or to the nearby towns and explore.
I spent many hours walking along the beach and checking out the other all inclusive resorts. I hung out at various bars along the beach and met interesting people from many parts of the world.
I also ventured up to the top of our RIU resort and took great photos of the beach. The Wow! factor was there. The powdery white sand, the crystal clear aquamarine water, and the beautifully landscaped beaches.

Several times during that week, my friends and I set out on a few day trips. One day we went to the famous Chichen Itza, the large archaeological site built by the Maya civilization in the Mexican state of Yucatan.
Another day we headed off to Playa del Carmen by bus, chartered by our resort hotel. This is another awesome spot for great beach vacations.
We then took the ferry from Playa del Carmen over to the island of Cozumel. That was an exciting 20 minute cruise as the waves were big and rocking the boat.
After walking around the main town of San Miguel de Cozumel and enjoying the boutiques and beach views, we decided to do something different and exotic. We rented a fun Volkswagen Beetle and went cruising around the island of Cozumel.

We stopped at a lovely beach 15 minutes from San Miguel, on the reef side of Cozumel, and relaxed with a Mexican beer. This is where the famous coral reefs are located, which Jacques Cousteau publicized as one of the world’s best places to go scuba diving.
Then we continued around the island and found a rugged coast with large waves crashing on the craggy rocks. What a spectacular experience!
