Among the Paris attractions of the 9th arrondissement you will find the exquisite Palais Garnier, home to the Paris Opera house, the Grands Boulevards area of shopping, romantic Paris walks, magnificent churches and museums, and an unlimited amount of wonderful Parisian patisseries with delicious homemade goods and pastries.

You must go on several Paris walks to discover the romantic neighbourhoods, and you have to go shopping here even if you are only browsing.

Travel Ideas – Covered Shopping Malls & Museums

Other interesting Paris attractions in the 9th district are the covered passageways built in the 19th Century, charming early versions of the shopping mall. It is easy to find them while going out on your Paris walks.

There are several in the vicinity of boulevard Haussmann and rue Vivienne, including passage Jouffroy and passage Verdeau.

Musée Gustave Moreau is the house of the Symbolist painter, which has now become a museum to his life and work.

The Musée Grévin is a wax museum located on the Grands Boulevards with some 500 characters arranged in scenes from the history of France and modern life.

Travel Ideas – Go on Paris Walks and Discover Churches and Patisseries

After visiting the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann, I set out to walk over to the Sacre Couer Basillica on Montmartre.

On my way I discovered a wonderful patisserie which had my favourite cookies, macaron pistache. I savoured each bite as I walked along the streets of the 9th arrondissement.

Here I spotted the delightful church, Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. Walking around the streets, it’s easy to find many unexpected Paris attractions.
